Least Squares Approximations to Compressible Flow Problems,

Abstract

A type insensitive scheme based on a weighted least square variational principle is used in conjunction with appropriate finite element spaces. Shocks are treated through a modified density formulation natural to this scheme. Selected numerical results are reported along with a qualitative analysis of the approximations. (Author)
