Computation of Non-Linear Wave Resistance,

Abstract

In order to improve the predictions of the thin-ship theory, a non-linear wave making resistance equation has been developed. In this method, the body boundary condition is exact, and the free-surface condition is linearized. An iteration method is used to compute the wave resistance. The first iteration is the solution of the thin-ship theory. In this presentation, the number of iterations is ten for all models. The results of two models are compared with experimental data and show improved correlation. (Author)
