Non-Stationary Responses of Non-Linear Rectangular Plates during Transition through Parametric Resonances. Part 1. Theory,

Abstract

The present work deals with the problem of the non-stationary parametric response of non-linear rectangular plates simply supported along its edges and subjected to the action of periodic in-plane forces unfiormly distributed along two opposite edges. The non-stationary response of the plate during a logarithmic sweep of the excitation frequency through a system resonance is evaluated for a wide variety of cases. The validity of these results is ascertained experimentally.
