Personal Management of Administrative Matters for Army Medical Department Psychologists,
Abstract
Better than anyone else we AMEDD psychologists of today, by virtue of our heritage and training, should be able to contend with the employed conceptual constructs of, and find some successes in mastering, the US Army personnel information system used today. Like our predecessors we continue to strive to seek quality data in our daily applications of our profession, but over the years we have ignored or thought light of data that is obtained on ourselves. Also, we often have fallen into the trap of presupposing that people who matter in making decisions about us know how unique a breed we psychologists are - after all, we historically helped to plan and develop among other things the present information and selection systems. Unless we are informed about the ways and means of constituting and safeguarding personnel record keeping, we not only will continue to be naive but will also take our lumps and fall victims of chance error and selection bias.
