Implications of Artificial Intelligence for a User Defined Technical Information System,

Abstract

UDTISis an electronic, computer-based device related to Stanley Kubrick's 2001's HAL. Size is unknown, but UDTIS has contained within it or has access to all the technical and training information of the particular operational system for which UDTIS covers. UDTIS may have multiple screens to permit simultaneous viewing of different types of technical information. Display characteristics are unknown, but it does present the technical information in a form that the user readily understands. The degree of interactiveness is also unknown, but UDTIS is more than user friendly. UDTIS has to know the background and capabilities of the user and has to anticipate the needs of the user.
