Die Abhaengigkeit der Bodentragfaehighkeit und der Zugkraft von der Abstandgroesse der Bodenplatten (The Dependence of Soil Bearing Capacity and Drawbar Pull on the Spacing between Track Plates),

Abstract

The spacing between track plates has hitherto been defined in theoretical and experimental work in terms of the criterion of maximum shearing stresses (maximum thrust). The geometry of the spaced link track was defined in this way. Spacing equivalent to 2-3 widths of a single track plate ensures a larger overall shearing stress PH by comparison with the traditional track (without spacing). The increase in stress PH is limited by the maximum track plate pressure, which should not exceed 0.04 MPa.
