Producing High Scene Content with Perspective Validity,

Abstract

Maintaining perspective validity in visual displays is essential to providing proper training cues. Perspective validity has many aspects, including correct perspective transformation of geometric shapes, exact determination of surface priority relationships, accurate shading of curved as well as planar surfaces, consistent mapping of texture patterns onto scene surfaces, and proper representation of aerial perspective. This paper describes the mathematical models used in Grumman's non-edge computer image generation CIG technology to maintain perspective validity in all its aspects. (Author)
