Supersonic Tactical Missile (STM) Radome Development,
Abstract
The Supersonic Tactical Missile program included a radome development based on the geometry depicted. The nose radome was a Von Karman body of revolution, 38 inches long with a 15 inch base diameter. The enclosed radiometer system utilized a 12 inch vertically polarized aperture providing four main lobes (an azimuth pair and an elevation pair) and operating over a narrow bandwidth (4.3%) centered at 235 GHz. This contrast seeker was gimballed on the radome longitudinal axis and limited to a primary tracking field of +or- 15 degrees about this axis.
