A Safe Separation Model,

Abstract

As a result of a program to evaluate and select ramp and transport bucket materials that can be used to reduce safe separation distances for explosive materials a model was formulated to aid in the prediction of safe separation. Although incomplete, the model provides a first-order estimate for plastic, steel and aluminum transport bucket materials. This paper describes the model, its utility and its limitations.
