A State of the Art Assessment of Turboprop Transmission Technology and Projected Needs for the Next Generation,

Abstract

The major share of power transmission research and development during the past twenty years has been expended on the improvement of helicopter main rotor drives. Fortunately, most of the advanced technology features resulting from these efforts are directly applicable to turboprop transmissions. The technology base is made up of a number of interacting disciplines whose application is tempered by economics as well as the engineering state of the art at any given time.
