Average Loss Factors for Use in Statistical Energy Analysis,

Abstract

This paper describes a new technique for the measurement of frequency band and space averaged loss factors of uniform structural components. Values are obtained by an energy measurement technique which is shown to give good results over a wide range of loss factor values. The results obtained can be used in Statistical Energy Analysis prediction programs, or simply to study the frequency dependence of loss factors in components or materials. (Author)
