Revision of the Design Manual 'Structures to Resist the Effects of Accidental Explosions' (TM 5-1300, NAVFAC P-397, AFM 88-22),

Abstract

Procedures for structures designed to resist the effects of HE type explosions are presently available in the Tri-Service Design Manual Structures to Resist the Effects of Accidental Explosions. However, these procedures are limited to reinforced concrete structures. Since its original publication, a considerable amount of data has been generated which brought about the requirement to revise existing procedures in the manual and incorporate new data. This paper describes the format of the revised manual and provides a discussion on the contents of each of the six volumes, including the improvements made to the existing manual. (Author)
