Acylaziridine Reactivity in the Liner and Propellant Environments

Abstract

In order to clarify the mode of action of acylaziridine bond promoters, a monofunctional acylaziridine was synthesized and the reactivity of this model compound with 1-propanol in the ring-opening of the aziridine ring by the alcohol to give isomeric amides. Following this study, the reactivity of the model bond promoter with hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene polymers was investigated employing carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry as the primary analytical tool.
