Elastomeric Alloys: A New Approach for Communication Cables,

Abstract

A new elastomeric alloy based on thermoplastic vulcanizate technology has been developed for use in communication and other cable applications. Its unique combination of electrical and physical properties enable its use when low capacitance is required for insulation, and good mechanical properties are required for jacketing. This combination allows a single material for both insulation and jacket in 75 C. wet, and 105 C. dry rated cables.
