Field Installable Plastic Multi-Fiber Connector,
Abstract
A precisely molded plastic multifiber connector has been developed for a five-fiber ribbon-type cable. The connector has superior characteristics such a slow insertion loss, satisfactory mechanical and environmental stability, light weight, small size and is suitable for mass production. The connector can be used for joining five single fibers as well as a five-fiber ribbon, and it is factory or field installable with each operations.
