A Connector Intensive Local Area Network,

Abstract

This paper will present data on an installation where over 10,000 connectors and 150km of optical fiber were used in one building to configure currently the largest LAN in the world. These links are very connector intensive with typical runs having a minimum of five connectors. In addition there are several star couplers utilized in the system.
