Winding of Optical Fiber Cable onto Existing Ground Wire,

Abstract

A compact optical fiber cable with 4mm outer diameter and 25kg/km weight has been developed and wounded around existing ground wire using currently developed automatic winding machine. Suitable selection of winding pitch has been experimentally found to reduce the wind pressure even though the increase of weight and outer diameter. (Author)
