Composite Ground Wire with Optical Fibers,

Abstract

The composite ground wire with optical fiber (OPT-GW) designed with a tight fiber unit shows stable characteristics through manufacturing, installation, and operation. This paper explains the structure, accessories, and performance characteristics of OPT-GW. The performance characteristics include manufacturing and test results such as process attenuation change, heat cycling at low and high temperatures, creep, tension tests, and simulated short circuit tests.
