Lightweight 2 Fiber Aviation Cable Featuring Low Fiber Stress Levels,

Abstract

An imminent need for fiber optics in aircraft applications has prompted the development of a lightweight, two-fiber, fanout cable. This cable consists of two fiber optic subunits, two glass reinforced polyester rods, aramid yarn strength members, a helically applied polyimide tape, and an outer fluoropolymer jacket.
