Air Navigation Services and Aircraft Around the Year 2000 (Navigation Aerienne et l'Avion a l'Horizon 2000),

Abstract

Since 1980 a working party of the EUROCONTROL Agency has been in charge of the development of a future system concept and the formulation of an air traffic service system. This report reviews the objectives, the difficulties, the main principles and the characteristics associated to the development and implementation of the future ATS concept. It points at the necessity for close consultation between aircraft manufacturers, avionics manufacturers, aircraft operators and the authorities responsible for Air Traffic Management.
