Summary of Experiences, Problems, and Needs of North Central Division,

Abstract

North Central Division (NCD) has the responsibility of maintaining existing Corps structures located in the Great Lakes areas, along the Upper Mississippi River and its drainage areas, and along part of the St. Lawrence Seaway. Some of these structures are founded on rock, especially those along the Illinois Waterways in the Rock Island District, the St. Lawrence Seaway in the Buffalo District and in the Sault Ste. Marie area in the Detroit District. A great majority of these structures for earth dams.
