Application of Advanced Technologies to Future Military Transports,

Abstract

This paper addresses long range military transport technologies with emphasis on defining the potential benefits of the hybrid laminar flow control (HLFC) concept currently being flight tested in a cost shared NASA, USAF, and Boeing program. Results of 1990's global range transport study are presented showing the expected payoff from application of advanced technologies. The paper concludes with a technology forecast for military transports.
