Optical Properties and Densification of Sol-Gel Derived PbTiO3 Thin-Layers,

Abstract

Refractive index values are reported for sol-gel derived PbTiO3 thin-layers as a function of thermal processing conditions., Dense amorphous layers were formed at 350 degC (n = 2.35) with crystallization at 450 degC (-n = 2.65). A spin-casting method is described for the deposition of coatings. Ellipsometry was used to monitor optical properties as a function of heat-treatment conditions.
