Non-linear Excited State Absorption in Er3(+) Doped Fibre with High-power 980nm Pumping,

Abstract

We report the measurement of non-linear excited state absorption (ESA) in Er 3+ doped fibres pumped at 980nm. The implications for high-power high-gain amplifiers are discussed.
