The Effect of Pump Induced Temperature Variation on Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifiers,

Abstract

The temperature increase of an erbium-doped fiber by 1.48um pumping was measured. The mechanism of heat generation and its influence on amplification characteristics are discussed.
