Amplitude Squeezed Number-Phase Intelligent State in a Directional Coupler,

Abstract

Recently it has been shown how a Gaussian superposition of coherent states along a straight line in alpha plane describes quadrature squeezing while along an arc it is an approximate number phase intelligent state associated with Pegg-Barnet phase operators and shows amplitude squeezing. The amplitude squeezed light is defined by a reduction in the fluctuations of amplitude component of below the coherent state value for this reason the amplitude squeezing looks very important from the point of view of optical communications. We found that the properties of this state are between coherent and pure number states, it is less vulnerable than the latter while shows some of its advantages.
