The Study of Weak Linear Electron-Phonon Coupling in Iron-Free Hemeproteins,

Abstract

The present interest in the PHB optical memories has motivated research into finding materials which have weak electron-phonon coupling between the guest impurity and the host system. The magnitude of the linear electron-phonon coupling strength can be obtained from the Debye-Waller factor, the relative strength of the zero-phonon line and phonon sideband of the homogeneous spectrum. The Debye-Waller factor can be determined readily in crystals; in amorphous solids, however, the large inhomogeneous spectral broadening
