Transition from Particle Image Velocimetry to Laser Speckle Velocimetry with Increasing Seeding Density,

Abstract

The strength and variance of the signal in a particle-imaging technique is examined over a range of seeding densities which encompasses both particle image velocimetry and laser speckle velocimetry. Ensembles of double-exposure particle images are examined with a computer model of the recording and interrogating processes. (Author)
