Processing Speed of Photorefractive Optical Correlators in PIV-Processing,

Abstract

The processing speed is investigated for an all-optical correlator based on a photorefractive BSO crystal. Results from a four-wave mixing experiment with a BSO crystal are related to real PIV processing. Also, the speed of real PIV transparency processing is investigated. The achievable processing speed for the all-optical correlator is discussed and the most important parameters are emphasized.
