Comparison of Optical and Digital Evaluation of Photographic PIV Recordings,

Abstract

An analog optical method for the evaluation of PIV recordings utilizing an electrically addressed spatial light modulator is described. A comparison of the results of the evaluation carried out as well by means of the analog optical as by the standard technique (Young's fringes) showed that the optical method was at least of the same accuracy as the standard technique. Different examples for the application of the analog optical method at the evaluation of PIV recordings are presented. (Author)
