A Review of Plant Maintenance Methods and Economics

Abstract

This paper gives a brief review of the available techniques for plant maintenance and suggests that a mix of techniques is probably the optimum or any particular piece of plant, with different techniques being used for different components. Some approximate guidance is also give on maintenance expenditure and on industries in which improved maintenance is likely to give the greatest financial return.
