Abstract

The development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and transition to the professional basis of recruitment of military units pose the specific demands to psychophysiological and moral-psychological condition of the officers. The process of reforming the Armed Forces of Ukraine, one element of which is the reduction of the number of servicemen while still maintaining adequate defensive capability of the country should be implemented by using the science-based methodology of studying and practical application of the "human factor" concept, its role and place in estimation of fighting capability of military units. Obviously, the further perfection of battle systems and facilities should be connected to psychophysiological provision of training and battle activity of the troops. In order to accomplish these goals, a system of professional selection of the officers was established in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
