Best Approximation Algorithms: A Unified Approach

Abstract

A generalization of the Remez algorithm is proposed. The new approach uses differential properties of the best approximation operator. The method was developed for polynomial approximation of complex-value functions. In this paper the convergence of algorithm is proved for Banach spaces.
