Curvature and Tangency Handles for Control of Convex Cubic Shapes

Abstract

We consider the problem of modelling a plane convex shape with a closed component of an algebraic non-singular cubic. All nine degrees of freedom are interpreted as visual handles, namely: tangency to three prescribed lines at three given points and the curvatures at these points.
