High Frequency Properties of Electron Waveguides, AC-Admittance, Scattering Parameters, Plasma Oscillations

Abstract

The relation between the AC-admittance of single mode electron waveguides is discussed in terms of the more complete scattering matrix of the same structure. For low frequencies, the admittance coincides with the series-inductance expressions in the literature. For higher frequencies the admittance shows resonances where it vanishes due to standing plasma waves.
