Progress in Red Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers

Abstract

The development of red vertical cavity surface emitting lasers with peak emission wavelengths from 620 tn 690 nm is reviewed. The performance characteristics of state-of-the-art gain guided and selectively oxidized device structures are presented.
