Pharmaceutical Waste Disposal in Croatia

Abstract

In the framework of secured significant financial support provided by the World Bank the implementation of project that will solve the problem of large quantity of unusable or outdated pharmaceutical materials, donated during the period of war, has started in March 2001 in Croatia. Expired pharmaceuticals are scattered across the country in about 250 locations, of which 25 sites contain over 70% of the total quantity.
