MKIDS - Management of Knowledge Intensive Dynamic Systems

Abstract

MKIDS is a research program sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF) for the Department of Defense (DOD). The purpose of the program is to create management tools and methodologies that permit the scheduling and control of production processes which are knowledge intensive and react to dynamic changes in the external and operating environments with agility. NSF recognizes that this research will be of interest to wide sectors of emerging commerce as well as DOD production assets. This paper will describe the MKIDS paradigm. The papers presented in this KIMAS `03 session will deal with the scheduling, social metrics, and organizational behavior of the paradigm.
