Building Space Power for the Nation: Air Force Achievements Challenges and Opportunities

Abstract

Though an obvious and critical force multiplier for US combat power throughout its short history, US space power had been beset by numerous upheavals, stove-piped structures, military and civilian organizational rivalries, and an ever-expanding demand on its operation resources. General Hamel proposes new ways in which the United States can optimize its space assets for the future, with multiple steps toward fully mature space power fulfilling its role as a key element of our national military power.
