Network-Enabled GeoSpatial-GEOINT Services Tech

Abstract

This Project investigates and develops an integrated capability to rapidly share mission critical 3-dimensional (3D) information that supports planning and execution at the Soldier level. This will be achieved through the maturation of next-generation geospatial analytical models for 3D complex urban environment data, delivering enriched understanding of dynamic Operational Environments and distributed to a tactical Common Operating Environment. This Project will result in improved situational awareness and autonomy at low echelons, contributing to increased maneuver and mobility during manned and unmanned teaming operations. Work in this Project complements Program Element (PE) 0603463A (Network C3I Advanced Technology) / Project AT8 (Network-Enabled GeoSpatial and GEOINT Services AdvTech). The cited work is consistent with the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering priority focus areas and the Army Modernization Strategy. Work in this Project is performed by the United States Army Engineer Research and Development Center Geospatial Research Laboratory, Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory, and Information Technology Laboratory.
