Ground Vehicle Power and Energy Concepts and Tech

Abstract

This Project researches and develops advanced power and energy technologies for combat ground vehicles that are necessary for parallel hybrid, series hybrid, and all- electric vehicle systems. This effort investigates and develops electric conversion technologies to reduce size and weight of military vehicles while increasing performance and capabilities to support current and future mission loads and provide improved military vehicle mobility. The cited work is consistent with the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering priority focus areas and the Army Modernization Strategy. Work in this Project supports the Army Science and Technology Ground and Next Generation Combat Vehicle portfolios. Work in this Project is performed by the United States (US) Army Futures Command. Work in this Project is coordinated with PE 0602145A (Next Generation Combat Vehicle Technology) and PE 0603462A (Next Generation Combat Vehicle Advanced Technology).
