Pathfinder 3D Applied Technology
Abstract
This Project investigates and develops a geospatial rapid position and navigation solution in Global Positioning System (GPS) degraded and denied environments. Research focuses on using onboard sensors and high-resolution digital terrain geospatial alternative solution based upon Visual Three-Dimensional (3-D) Terrain Referencing and Navigation (VTRAN). This Project will result in the linkage of air and ground assets integrating sensory and (One World Terrain and Reference) geospatial data within the modular GPS Independent Sensors architecture. This Project provides critical alternatives to maneuver forces for position and navigation in a multi-domain operational environment. Work in this Project complements Program Element (PE) 0603463A (Network C3I Advanced Technology) / Project DB6 (Pathfinder 3D Adv Technology). The work cited is consistent with the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering priority focus areas and the Army Modernization Strategy. Work in this Project is performed by the United States Army Engineer Research and Development Center Geospatial Research Laboratory.
