Armored Engineer Vehicles

Abstract

This project supports the prototype development, test and evaluation of a robotic capability Remote Control System (RCS) for the Assault Breacher Vehicle (ABV), to include prototype fabrication, developmental testing, operational testing and logistics demonstration / user test events. Funding supports modernization of Army Bridging and Armored Engineer Vehicle fleets by investigating technology insertions including, but not limited to: condition based maintenance, increased military load capacities, autonomous operations and other emerging technologies. Funding also supports developing initial prototypes and testing to enable refinement of Operational Requirements and early user feedback to support future sustainment and operational movement operating concepts. FY 2023 Base dollars in the amount of $7.163 million supports the Assault Breacher Vehicle Robotic Control System (ABV RCS) Prototype Development and Fabrication, start of prototype testing, shipping of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), ABV refurb at Anniston Army Depot and manpower.
