Meta-Optimization
Abstract
The grantee shall investigate a new approach to optimization, instead of treating it as a simple task, they are proposing a "meta-optimisation" approach that will treat optimization as a complex, nested task that represents the inherent uncertainty and game theoretic nature of many real-world problems. There will be two main directions of research: developing meta-optimization methods that (1) learn from the past and (2) applying such methods to new domains like cooperative and competitive optimization.
