Stretching Toward the Near Infrared in Small Molecule Photovoltaics

Abstract

This proposal involves a three-year collaborative program between Profs. Ken Wong at the National Taiwan University and Stephen Forrest at the University of Michigan to explore a family of small molecular weight compounds whose absorption spectrum stretches into the near infrared (<1.1 micron wavelength), and hence have application to high efficiency organic photovoltaic (OPV) cells.
