Terahertz beam steering based on tunable nano-antennas

Abstract

The objective is to address one of the major safety concerns of everyday life, by improving the safety of cars and other means of transport through the development of steerable antennas. It could also be used to guide autonomous vehicles by detecting obstacles during navigation. Once the proposed compact antennas for smart sensors are available to the automotive industry at an affordable cost, this will revolutionise the safety features of cars, and will rapidly lead the advances towards autonomous vehicles.
