Advanced Computational Methods for Optimization of Non-Periodic Inspection Intervals for Aging Infrastructure

Abstract

The Bayesian method of statistics allows the estimation of unknown true probability from observed data. The method is to assume a prior distribution and update the assumption based on observed data. This simple process makes estimation of complex systems manageable. The objective of the current project is to optimize maintenance activity in an aero-propulsion application using experimental and analytical tools.
