Ultrastrong Carbon Thin Films from Diamond to Graphene under Extreme Conditions: Probing Atomic-Scale Interfacial Mechanisms to Achieve Ultralow Friction and Wear
Abstract
The objective of this research is to understand how to achieve low and long-lasting steady-state friction and wear by developing scientific understanding of atomic-scale mechanisms that govern adhesion, friction, and wear on diamond and graphene interfaces under extreme conditions.
