Investigation of Change Detection and Forecasting Methods for Predictive Maintenance

Abstract

The goal of this research is to establish a guidance for choosing, customizing, and developing a change detection and forecasting method for predictive maintenance, and to develop actual methods for specific targets. Through the previous research on 3 different methods, a common structure of the change detection methods was revealed that clarifies the process of each method. The knowledge about the common structure is the foundation of this guidance. For this reason, we will investigate several methods in addition to the previous 3 methods to increase our knowledge. The capability of these methods will be evaluated with synthesized signals and experimental data. The guidance established by this research is based on a general structure for change detection and forecasting methods, so that it can be applied to any fields where predictive maintenance is desired.
