High Power Durability of Soft Glasses for Laser Applications

Abstract

The overall objective is to address the unexplored area of the fundamental limit of achievable laser power for mid-infrared transmitting soft glasses such as fluoride, germanate and tellurite glasses. This proposal aims to close this knowledge gap by investigating the high power durability and power scalability of these glasses.
